Green Hot Love

For those of you who want to celebrate your big love without a big carbon footprint, the following are ideas and suggestions (particularly if you live in Toronto):

Flowers and chocolate
Flowers and chocolate go together like ‘Organic’ and ‘Fair Trade’. For chocolate, Green & Blacks sell an assortment of Valentine’s chocolate that are light on the planet and support growers and their communities.

Organic and even Fair Trade roses and other flowers can be found at organicbouquet.com, Whole Foods and EcoFlora.

Dinner
Romance over local and organic cuisine! Although, eating local during a Canadian winter is a bit of a challenge. Toronto’s Il Fornelo offers local choices. For a list of eco-friendly restaurants check out the Green Living Restaurant Guide

Organic Spa
Nothing says love more than Moroccan Rassoul Clay Wrap. I’ve been to and recommend the following:

Bloor West Organic Spa

Aliviar Spa Organic & Vegan

Elixir Organic Spa

Love Toys
Yup. You can get eco-friendly and non-toxic sex toys (they think of everything!) Treehugger provides insights from various writers. Click here to learn more.
